Private Care Provider Adelaide

Private home care – immediate support without government hassle

Yellow Door understands that in some cases, clients will wish to have home care services delivered on their own terms and may elect not to be part of a Government assisted scheme.

Private home care is a fee-for-service option that allows you to access support immediately. It represents an alternative to government funded Home Care Packages and allows you to receive the support you may need to live independently without the hassle of Government assessments, tests and subsidies. Private care can also be used to top up the hours of care you receive through your Home Care Package if it does not meet all of your care needs.

Private home care may be suitable when:

  • You have the financial means to pay for care on a fee-for-service basis
  • You are not eligible to receive a Home Care Package
  • You are on a wait list to receive a Home Care Package, but need support right now

  • You need urgent care following a hospital visit and need to support to transition from hospital to home

  • You need someone to provide respite care while your main carer takes a break

  • You have a Home Care Package but would like to add to the support you receive with extra hours

Premium private care. Live independently at home with flexible, personalised support from Yellow Door

We have an enviable track record in providing home private care so that you can remain in your own home, on your own terms, surrounded by the memories and people you love and the community that you’re familiar with. Private home care can help you live independently and get the support you need, when you need it.

Yellow Door, offers premium quality in-home private care and highly flexible options of care and our caregivers and nurses are carefully screened, directly recruited and trained to provide you the range of care and support services you need.

We charge for our services by the hour and aim to work on the basis of providing as little or as much care as is genuinely needed, to achieve an optimal and personalised standard of care. In our experience we find that after the initial assessment and thoughtful planning (which we provide without charge), clients are often surprised by what can be achieved, to the exacting standard one should expect of a private service.

Hourly rates will depend on the level of complexity and expertise required. For example, care requiring the expertise of a Registered Nurse is charged at a higher rate than the services provided by a care worker.

Our private care services and supports include:

It is vital to ask your potential Home Care Package provider how their staff are screened and trained. Do they have National Police Clearances? Do they have a NDIS worker check? How many reference checks are completed before they are employed? Does the provider offer ongoing training and professional development? Yellow Door has a strict and rigorous recruitment process and ongoing training program to ensure you receive safe and quality care.  Check out our Quality Assurance page to provide more detail and answers to your questions.

Yellow Door has its own employees to deliver your home care services. With over 100 care staff delivering over 2000 hours of care per week, we have the right staff for you. Many Home Care Package providers use agency staff and contractors to deliver care services to their clients. If you decide to choose a provider with this model of care, it is important to ask what safeguards the provider has in place to ensure the quality of the care that is provided. We also recommend asking how the agency workers and contractors have been screened and trained.

If you’re considering Home Care Providers, it is critical to keep these questions in mind to make sure you’re choosing a Home Care Package provider that’s the right fit for you.

Yes. We’re really happy when you find a worker that you click with and encourage you to let us know if you’d like a specific team member to visit you regularly. We will do our best to make sure we schedule them in with you, however at times it may not be possible if there has to be a last-minute change to your service date or time. We will always let you know in advance if someone different to usual will be visiting you.

Easy! Just email [email protected] or use your client portal on your App to change, alter or cancel your care worker. You can always call our Care Coordinator team if you prefer. Just make sure to give two business days’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
